The freshness of the food, the friendliness of the faces on Saturday mornings make every weekend special. There are street performers, delectable baked goods, friends and folks of every age from babies to
senior seniors! Dogs, and flowers, cabbages and kale and herbs for every dish's requirements. Cheese,and yogurt and popsicles and even the opportunity to buy local meats from animals that were free roaming and organically fed. There are petitioners working on many environmental and political issue encouraging passersby to sign. Held adjacent to the town common in Amherst, there is often a fair or some other special event that has the downtown bopping and involved.

The Amherst Farmer's Market is full of venders with original, organic produce, and items which can not found in your local stores. These are hardworking local people who believe in their products and how they market them. As an event I look forward to every Saturday, I have found that it is just as much a pleasure to talk to the merchants and farmers as it is to buy their products.
