First time joining a CSA
By: Laura Pabian (Nov 2, 2011)
For years my sister told us to join a CSA. Almost a decade later we finally did it and we are so happy we did. It is exciting to pick up our share each week and learn what new vegetables we have received. I have learned and created many new recipes and it is wonderful to know where our food is coming from and how healthy it is for us. Thank you farmer Shari and farmer Bryan!
Astonishing CSA Farmer
By: Rory Bowman (Feb 5, 2009)
I've been a member of a few CSA's over the years and if I could choose one as the best, it would probably be Dancing Roots under Shari Sirkin. In a good season it is hard to tell how good a farmer is, and in a bad season the best farmer can look bad. Having seen a few farmers over several seasons, I can attest that Sirkin is an amazingly good farmer, and an astonishing manager. Her quality is solid, her harvests always fresh and her quantity downright intimidating for some. Were geography different, Dancing Roots would be my CSA, hands down. It is that good.
We Love Dancing Roots Farm!

We have been members of Dancing Roots Farm ( DRF ) for three years now. We have two boys, one almost 8 years old and one who is almost 3 year old. We are so proud to think that our youngest will not be able to ever remember a time when we were not going to the farm to pick up our share on Mondays....
Our family loves Farmer Shari, Farmer Bryan and all the wonderful people at Dancing Roots who work so hard for us year round. We are lucky enough to live within a couple miles to our farm just east of the Sandy river in beautiful Troutdale Oregon and our kids look forward to going each week. We all enjoy seeing Tavish, ( DRF's sweet and very loveable yellow lab ), to say hi to other members and to fill up on fresh, delicious, nutricious, scrumdellyicious veggies... many times when we get home with our share I notice a few carrot tops with missing carrots... hmmmm... maybe we are raising bunnies?
Farmer Shari is always there to answer questions - hand out information on items some members may not have had experience cooking with before and to visit. This is what a CSA and a community is all about. We know where our food is coming from and who is raising and caring for it. It doesn't get much better or more sustainable than that.
I have my laptop in the kitchen area and sometimes after we bring home our veggies I will go right to the forum on DRF's web site to look and see if anyone has posted a new recipe or to review Shari's recommendations for the week.
We wish we could give ten stars to Dancing Roots Farm!
