What I learned from my local CSA
By: Debi Henson    (Nov 3, 2011)

Thanks to a stranger who told me about CSA, I now have eaten more new vegetables this year than in my 51 years of life! I experienced new recipes and cooking methods, thanks in part to my CSA farmer at 3 Acre Farms, whom I'll call J in case she doesn't want her name mentioned. Green beans, kuri squash, grey and French shallots, Genovese basil, rosemary, common thyme, Greek oregano, Italian flat leaf parsley and curly leaf parsley, sage, Long pod okra, Romanesco zucchini, Yellow crookneck squash, Goldie zucchini, Rainbow mix chard, Italian silver rib chard, buttercrunch lettuce, French filet bush bean, Italian bush bean (Roma Improved), French baby leeks, Optima butterhead lettuce, Heirloom tomatoes, Crimson Carmello tomato, Sungold and Sweet 100 cherry tomatoes, Edamame, Minowase radishes, Daikon radishes, French breakfast radishes, Cylindra beet, Chioggia beet, cilantro, Sweet bell peppers, Serano, Jalapeno, and Habanero peppers, onions, French red, French grey, and Dutch yellow shallots, Inchelium Red garlic, Portuguese Kale, Fava beans, turnips, potatoes, Japanese eggplant, and carrots. AND I'm looking forward to the Winter box too! J is an awesome lady, knows her varieties, and never uses insecticides. These veggies won't look "perfect" like store-bought - but they'll smell and taste divine. If you're not sure, split a box with a friend or neighbor - you'll be back next year for sure.

Great Place!

The woman who owns this farm (Jannelle) is a super nice lady. She is has been making huge improvements to her property since she moved in almost two years ago. She has lots of eggs that she gets from here free range chickens that she will sell for a very fair (low) price. Go check it out!
