lip smacking, finger licking beef!

We went to the 2012 open house and felt like I was at home. His beef IS beef. Any other "beef" is pseudo-food (fake stuff). Read Joel Salatin's books: Folk's this ain't normal, and Holy Cows and Hog Heaven. They will give you a better appreciation and understanding of what this guy is doing. May your farm thrive and continue on to the next generation, for you are the foundation of America's agriculture. I am an american and I am a future farmer. What's more... I'm a teen!

Truly the Best Beef (and Chicken) Ever!

If you're here, you probably already know all of the benefits of pasture-raised beef and chicken (if not, check out the book Pasture Perfect by Jo Robinson). After deciding my family was only going to eat humanely-raised, pastured animal products, we spent a few months experimenting and researching. We tried some of the imported grass-fed meats available at natural foods stores. I also considered ordering small amounts of meat from online retailers, most of whom were out-of-state. But I decided buying local and truly knowing my farmer was important to me and something I wanted to support. After researching dozens of farms, I decided to give DeyDey's a try. We drove from our home in Riverside to the Orange farmer's market. There, we met John in person and picked up a brisket, some steak, and some hamburger meat to try. It was AMAZING - it truly is the best beef ever. Tender and flavorful! I expected grass-fed beef to be an adjustment having eaten grain-fed my whole life, but I had no idea what I was missing! We also picked up a whole chicken from him - by far the best chicken I have ever had, and it fed us for several meals. And most importantly, I know these meats are healthy and nutritious for me and my family, and John treats these animals with compassion and respect. We called John last week and ordered 1/4 cow and 6 whole chickens for our freezer without hesitation. John offers excellent customer service - he very clearly communicated all of the details with me, and as luck would have it, we were able to pick up our order from the Orange Farmer's Market last Saturday (the website says it takes 2-4 weeks normally). We got a few odd looks from people as we loaded over 100 pounds of meat into our trunk at the farmer's market, but it was very convenient being able to pick up so close to home. I hope to make my way out to his farm sometime to see first-hand how the animals are raised; however, DeyDey's has a great website with lots of pictures and FAQ info, and John patiently answered all of the questions I had. I feel 100% confident about the quality of his products and will whole-heartedly recommend his farm to my friends and family seeking a healthier alternative to factory-farmed meats.
