amazing quality
By: Robert Smith (Jun 10, 2008)
I've been a member of EOB for four months and continue to be impressed with the quality and variety of produce. The greens from Knoll Farm have been spectacular: arugula, rapini, pea greens, tat soy, mizuna, heirloom variety spinach, green garlic and more. We've had cardoon, favas, beets, baby carrots, and lots of delicious arugula flowers. Now that it's summer, the onions are the best I've ever had; there were new potatoes this week, and the freshest, sweetest garlic I've ever tasted. Everything is clean and fresh, although the earlier I can pick it up, the better, especially on hot days. The greens, in particular, don't benefit from too many hours in the heat, even though they're kept misted. Frog Hollow's apricots and cherries have been sweet and delish, as always. This is a fun CSA for adventurous cooks who want the very best local, responsibly farmed produce.

Best CSA ever
By: Yvonne Prinz (May 30, 2008)
I've been a member of Eat Outside the Box for years now and the reason I keep coming back is that it just keeps getting better. Gail Wadsworth who voluntarily runs our CSA is tireless in her efforts to not only get the produce to us efficiently, she also shares recipes and provides us with access to fresh eggs, honey, and olive oil, all in support of small local farmers. Knoll Farms and Frog Hollow provide us with the freshest possible produce. There is a strong sense of community attached to this CSA as well and I highly recommend it!

not good
By: barbara hazlton (May 25, 2008)
The produce I received was wilted and outrageously expensive for what I received. It would have been easier and cheaper to buy from a grocery store.

Please see the review posted at Yelp! (pasted below) for another opinion of this CSA. The person who posted this negative review was unfamiliar with CSA and picked her produce up 11 hours after the pick up location opened and participated for 1 week only. The review below is from a member who drove all the way from Oakland for this awesome produce.
"It's like Iron Chef every week! You get massive loads of in season Frog Hollow Farm's "legendary fruit, organically grown" as well as unusual and diverse crops from Knoll Farms as part of a bundled CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). It's forced me to try fruits and veg that I would never have considered at the farmers market. Both farms supply Chez Panisse and other top notch restaurants, so you know what you're getting is a good deal. One share is good for a single person or a couple that eats out a couple times a week. If you are vegetarian and cook a lot, the shares are on the small size. The Walnut Creek location is at capacity but this CSA is expanding to serving residents of the Concord, Danville, Lafayette area and Brentwood."
