Rude, impersonal, and and lacking compassion
By: andrew anderson    (May 28, 2013)

After signing up for the 2013 season and with great anticipation of the harvest time..., my wife and I were relocated out of state by our careers, a move we could not control. Less than two weeks after signing up, and a month before the first harvest week, we were told that they have a strict no refund policy.

I find it ironic that an organization looking to foster a community environment would so firmly stomp on one of it's own members.

At DeLano Farms as in many CSA's a significant investment is made up front in preparing for the season. There are a number of options available for shareholders that are not able to fulfill the season. DeLano Farms CSA is flexible in these situations as we allow people to sell their share to another person, transfer their share to another person or to donate the share to the local food bank. The no refund policy is the best way to protect all of our shareholders investment in the farm. The no refund policy is stated and must be understood and agreed to in advance before an individual is able to actually purchase a share online. If done by phone the policy is read and agreed to during the registration process. Please contact us directly if you would like more information.

Great produce, and recipes too!
By: Carol Derks    (Oct 5, 2012)

I love the fresh produce each week, but it is also a special treat to try the new recipes that are provided by the CSA. My favorite this year is Apple Chard Quiche. And there are always new discoveries; for instance, husk cherries. Without the helpful information provided in the weekly email updates (or by the knowledgable staff at pick-up), I would have no idea what to do with some of these things! The CSA is worth every penny.

Abundant and Convenient
By: Kate Kirk-Greenberg    (Oct 3, 2012)

The DeLano CSA has provided a bountiful harvest since the Spring and is still providing huge amounts of beautiful, delicious veggies in October. We've appreciated the convenience of a nearby pick-up site at Nature's Way Preschool. We've also enjoyed going to the farm for the u-pick crops, especially the tomatoes, tomatillos, beans, herbs and FLOWERS!
