The week we stayed on the farm was flurry of activity. New babies a plenty. The goats delivered their twin kids right before our eyes. There were new arrivals of baby chicks, ducklings and squealing piglets. With the newbies came some relocating of the present critters. The peacocks got to move next door in a room with a view that allowed 24 hour access to the pasture. The ponies were not sure about the sudden activity in the barn, but seemed to do well. The hens maintain residence in Cluckingham Palace with the ducks laying vigil on the grounds. For some healthy exercise we dug some dirt, buried some seeds, planted the herbs and mucked the stalls. The down home cooking was a special treat with lessons on organic, free range, pastured meats and eggs. Down the street is Findley State Park with beautiful trails and a lake. The buds are just beginning so I can't wait to come back and see them in full bloom. I particularly appreciated the holistic care that was infused throughout the farm. Special thanks to Michelle, Michael and family for their kindness, knowledge and willingness to share their bounty.
