Ridgewind Suffolk Farm

We raise and work Suffolk Punch draft horses on our farm and in the forest of our community. These are a heritage breed and are very rare. They are specifically bred for work and enjoy their job.

We train folks (through internships and apprenticeships) in the skills to practice restorative forestry and try to inspire them as to the ethics of why to work this way in the forests or on the farm. We have a breeding stallion and usually have horses to sell or know where many are. We also work with the Healing Harvest Forest Foundation to promote "restorative forestry"

Please feel free to contact us if you have any interest in this culture. We are promoting this culture through an annual event called: Southern Draft Animal Days. Look it up on the web.

We look forward to hearing from folks through this local harvest site.

We make our living logging with Suffolk draft horses practicing Restorative Forestry. We also grow our feed for these work animals and produce thousands of bales of hay annually. Please refer to the Healing Harvest Forest Foundation website for more information. All serious inquiries are welcome. We have a face book page also.
