Following the tenets of organic farming, we proudly grow five varieties of mushrooms available year round, including: Portabella, Crimini (aka Baby Bella), White Button, Shiitake and Oyster.
We plant on a 14-day cycle to allow a continuous harvest of high quality mushrooms for our much-appreciated clientele.
The mushrooms grow in 35 ton batches of compost, produced on the farm using agricultural waste products. It is a combination of stable bedding, poultry litter, agricultural gypsum, spent distillers or brewer's grain. The compost is pasteurized during the mushroom growing process, making it free of weeds. No chemicals, pesticides or growth enhancers are used in the production of our mushrooms or other produce, ensuring it is some of the cleanest food available.
