River Valley Seed and Grain has a small line of specialty products using local grains from 3 counties around the mill. Our grain is currently ground on a stone burr mill at Cress Spring Bakery in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. Our organic winter wheat and rye are blended with salt and baking powder to make our popular Lonesome Stone Pancake Mix. We also offer fresh milled winter rye flour and hard red winter wheat flour, as well as spring wheat flour, especially good for bread bakers.
This project was specifically undertaken to support local Wisconsin grain growers and to provide folks with the distinctly fresh taste of locally grown grains.
River Valley Seed and Grain is committed to providing fresh grain to the local community. We are pleased to offer seed cleaning services to local farmers, providing them a market for their grain crop or seed for cover cropping.
Lonesome Stone Pancake Mix is available in 1#, 2# and 3.5# bags. Our organic winter wheat and rye flours are available in 2# and 3.5 # bags. Our spring wheat will be available in late October, an especially good flour for break baking.
