Rochester Roots is a non-profit organization committed to the creation of organic urban school and community garden based educational programs for youth and adults. These programs are based on the principals of providing equal access to high quality, safe, affordable, healthy food grown through earth friendly practices. We follow the NOFA-NY Farmers Pledge principles to grow heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Rochester Roots works with teachers and students to transform underutilized schoolyards into uban school-community gardens. The vegetables are harvested for the project participants with a portion of the vegetables being marketed through the growing season at the South Wedge Farmers Market and Abundance Natural Food. Our line of Petal Power & Green Power skin salves and lip balms is sold on line through our website and at various natural food stores in the area.
Visit us at the South Wedge Farmers Market Thursday evenings June 14 - October 18, 4-8pm. We'll be selling over 40 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, vegetables, herbs and flowers. Located behind Boulder Coffee at 100 Alexander Street, Rochester, NY.
We'll be selling heirloom tomato, pepper, flower and herb plants at the Rochester Public Market Flower City Days on Friday, May 25 and Sundays June 3 and 10, 7am -2pm. Corner of Main St . and Goodman.
