Rock Icelandics is owned by Mat and Cherish Rock. We are located in N. Indiana and purchased our first Icelandics 8 years ago, but had raised sheep for over 20 years before that. Our sheep are rotationally grazed for three seasons and fed local hay in the winter. We do not use growth hormones, enhancers or feed antibiotics in raising our lamb.
Icelandic sheep are a newer breed to North America but have a rich heritage from Iceland. They are well known for producing a mild, gourmet meat. In all our years of raising sheep, Icelandic meat has been the most desireable. In addition to selling whole or sides of lamb, we also sell registered breeding stock, fleece, and tanned pelts. Freezer lamb is generally available in August-October.
