Though sage is best known as a flavoring for meats, dressings, and sauces, as a medicinal plant it has traditionally been used as a tonic for the nerve and digestive systems. 'Extrakta is an improved variety of common sage for medicinal uses selected for a higher (2.5 %) essential oil content, rich in alpha- and beta-thujones, and other oils.
