Salem Public Market

Salem Public Market is Oregon's oldest farmers market since 1943. We are open year round every Saturday 8:30-2:00. We are located at 1240 Rural Ave. SE in Salem, just 10 blocks south of Mission Street down 12th street. Many vendors have come and gone since 1943 yet Oregon's oldest farmers market still offers a great variety of farm fresh conventional and organic produce and berries, flowers, mushrooms, meats, nuts, honey, herbs, cheese, fresh roasted coffees, and wholesome bread and baked goods. You may also find one of a kind items like soaps, emu products, hand turned wood bowls and jewelry. Festivals are held annually at Market: Berry Shortcake Festival in June with a dish of fresh local Berry Shortcake for a food donation to Marion/Polk Food Share. Festivals are entertaining for the whole family, with a variety of exhibits, activities and contests.

Vendors and customers of the Salem Public Market have gotten together to fill a cookbook with recipes celebrating the bounties of the beautiful mid-Willamette Valley. The recipes are intended to encourage the entire family to join together in the kitchen, to bring laughter, good food, and joy to our lives.
