Sassafrass Root (Sassafras albidum). About the only thing I use this for is tea. It tastes like root beer. So, if you don't like root beer, you won't like this. I know that the FDA has some warnings about sassafras. However, if a person drank this tea once or twice a month, it wouldn't really hurt them. That's up to you. I use it for a refreshing drink about 5 or 6 times a year.

This tree is on my property and has never been sprayed with chemicals.

I have full instructions on how to use this. The root is cut up very small. Take about 4 or 5 pieces of sassafras for each time. The pieces will last for two weeks of tea. So, there is actually a lot here.

Don't use if you are pregnant. I am simply making sassafras root available for those who do like using it.

I do not recommend herbs to replace a doctor's recommendations or prescriptions. Do not combine herbal remedies with pharmaceutical drugs; please use discretion.

For the most part unless mentioned otherwise, each tea bag will make 2 to 3 cups of tea; If loose herb tea, two ounces will make about 23 cups of tea . One ounce of just an herb is about a sandwich bag, and sometimes a little more. If it is a root herb such as burdock root it is heavier, thus an ounce would be about a quarter of a sandwich bag. Comfrey, plantain and nettle leaves would be in a quart size bag.
