The Saturday Produce Market is student-run and an integral part of the Richland Student Farms. The market provides area-wide consumers with fresh, locally grown foods while supporting rural and urban independent farmers. The students obtain practical experience in all aspects of operating a community-based small farm business from seed to market. The market located on the Richland College campus will run from June 4 through October 15, 2011. Operating hours are 8 am to 12 pm, rain or shine. Participating vendors will be the Richland Student Farms, student farmers, local independent farmers, and local Amish vendors with baked goods, cheese, candy and fudge.
