Two people. Three Acres. Eleven cats and counting. Here at Sawmill Creek Farms we're attempting local, sustainable, small-scale agriculture where the suburbs meet the pines. Spring production includes vegetable and herb starts, along with salad mixes, cole crops and cool season favorites. In summer, we offer heirloom tomatoes, speciality peppers, eggplant, beans, squash and garlic. Come fall, we usually collapse. For the 2011 season, we're embarking on an exciting new project, working with a local non-profit and growing a dedicated acre of produce for donation to local food banks. To help fund this effort, we'll be expanding our weekly CSA, and are on the lookout for new members. And, as always, we'll be offering our farm-grown spices right here on Local Harvest.

A big, fat Kellog's Breakfast tomato, drizzled with olive oil. A handful of Cubanelle peppers, lightly grilled. And don't forget the roasted garlic, some of that Georgian Fire we planted last fall. It'd be great if we could wrap it all up and send it via UPS. Instead we offer something more practical, a small sampling of spice powders grown and prepared right here on the farm.
