Scartar is made with sunflower oil and wheatgerm oil, both very high in Vitamin E. We add jojoba oil, shea butter and raw beeswax from our hives. Then we combine it with herbs we grow, and using a Machado Farms processing technique, we ceate the product you know as Scartar. It takes 6 months to make a single batch of 100 jars.
The reasons Scartar works so well are simple: First, the fourteen herbs it contains are all healing herbs. They work together to heal, and it’s their combined power that sets the Scartar apart from other products. Second, the three oils combined are vastly superior to using a single oil. Jojoba oil, wheat germ oil, and sunflower oil all work together to nourish and enrich your skin while the herbs do their job of healing. Third, the Shea butter we add is the ultimate moisturizer. Gathered from the nuts of the Shea butter tree, it’s a sustainable, environmentally safe, non-petroleum based cream that keeps the scar or wound moist and supple while the herbs and oils do their work. And fourth, we add raw, unfiltered beeswax, not just because it’s the one of the best and oldest ingredients to use on your skin. We use it because it makes Scartar waterproof. You can’t wash off Scartar. You can’t sweat it off, swim it off, or wipe it off. Once you apply it, your skin absorbs it, and won’t come off until your skin sloughs it off with all your outer layers of skin cells.
