Welcome to Serenity Sheep Farm Stay. My main focus for the past 13 years has been fiber animals, namely Shetland and Shetland/Romney Cross sheep. We live on 40 acres of the original 160 acre homestead that Chris' grandfather homesteaded. The land has been in the family since the early 1900's. We strive to farm in the same non-chemical way he did back then as well as utilizing the aged compost as fertilizer. We are continually thinking of new ways to utilize the land so that this can be our sole income. We leased 5 acres to a non-certified organic garden from 2002 to 2007. Everything is still grown in the same manor. This year the plot produced some very nice red wheat for our chickens and ourselves.(more...)
