Shepherd's Purse (capsella bursa pastoris)
This plant is of the mustard family. Shepherd's purse is a very delicate looking plant and one of my favorites to lay eyes on! Don't let the looks fool you, however, as shepherd's purse is one of the strongest herbs around to stop internal bleeding for many conditions such as hemorrhaging after birth or excessive menstrual bleeding,or bleeding from the uterus.
Because Shepard's Purse is an astringent, it can be used in mild diarrhea, especially if bleeding is involved.
And, because it is a diuretic, Shepherd's Purse can be used in any kind of fluid retention, where it will act to promote the flow of urine.
I do not recommend taking shepherd's purse for those with high blood pressure, pregnant or nursing women. as it constricts the blood vessels.
I grow and harvest safe herb, with out the use of pesticides or herbicides.

For the most part unless mentioned otherwise, each tea bag will make 2 to 3 cups of tea; If loose herb tea, two ounces will make about 23 cups of tea . One ounce of just an herb is about a sandwich bag, and sometimes a little more. If it is a root herb such as burdock root it is heavier, thus an ounce would be about a quarter of a sandwich bag. Comfrey, plantain and nettle leaves would be in a quart size bag.
