Our sheepskins are from our flock of purebred Shetland sheep. Shetlands are a small, primitive breed originally from the Shetland Islands of Scotland. Shetlands, known for their soft luxurious fleece, come in a range of colors. Thomas Jefferson is known to have had Shetland sheep. But the early flocks of Shetlands in North American did not survive as purebred populations. In 1980, an importation of Shetland sheep from Great Britain was brought into Canada. And in 1986, the first offspring imported into the U.S. from that flock arrived in Vermont.
This sheepskin is pure black. It measures 24" x 39" and is washable. Washing instructions are included with your purchase.
