We are a small, bio-dynamic, organic family farm. We grow many different varieties of the basics-- beans, potatoes, squash, tomatoes, lettuces, etc.-- but we specialize in extraordinary wildflowers and tradional Southern favorites like sweet potatoes, peanuts and strawberries. We will be selling these goodies and more at our farm stand at the Folk House.
Our methods are the same natural, sustainable methods that small farmers have used for millenia: crop rotation, green manure/mulch, compost, companion planting, friendly insects and chicken power. Most of the day-to-day work is done with hand tools, sweat and patience.
Our farm is located about a mile east of the Chesapeake Bay and a few miles west of the Atlantic Ocean on the beatiful Eastern Shore of Virginia. Mama Jean, the farm manager, gets some good help from her two boys Forest (6) and Liam (2) and husband Terry (when he's not coaching or teaching at the local high school.) If you are passing through on Rt.13, please stop in and see us.
