SkyRoot Farm

2014 marks the third season of SkyRoot Farm! We can't wait to grow truck-loads of wonderful produce for you. This year we will again be selling at the Langley and Bayview Farmers' Markets and are expanding our CSA to start a little earlier in the season and to include more members. We are thrilled to spend another season in the sun and the rain and the dirt!

The farm team has changed somewhat this year. Beth continues to bring her boundless enthusiasm to the farming endeavor and is joined by Anna, who grew up farming just a few miles down the road, and Arwen, who has been a nomadic farmer in Washington for the last 5 years.

We share the approach of thinking of the farm as an ecosystem and hold that at the forefront of our operation. Although veggies are our main product we integrate several animals into the farm: including bees, worms, goats, an almost 5 yr old human, and ducks (new this year!). We strive to grow delicious vegetables, build our soil and create a successful business.

We practice agriculture thoughtfully-- the worms, insects, bacteria and fungus on our farm agree that our growing practices are worth standing by! If you'd like to know more about our specific growing practices please come speak with us or send us an e-mail. You can find us at the Bayview Market on Saturdays starting April 26th, 10 AM-2 PM, and in Langley from 3-7 PM on Fridays, starting in June. You can sign up now for our spring/summer CSA, which starts on May 13 -- check out our webpage for more info.

We are currently recruiting for our 2014 Spring/Summer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)! As a member in the CSA you will receive between 8-10 items each week on Tuesday (unless you’re picking up at the farm – in that case you can get your veggies Monday!). We’ll be trying out a few new crops (more rutabagas, celery, mexican sour gherkins) and looking forward to planting even more of the tried and true ones (tomatoes, melons, cucumbers, arugula, kale, turnips).
