Slow Food Kansas City is an organization that was begun by Jasper Mirablile Jr. His comitment to the local food producers and farmers in town is unsurpassed. Our convivium celebrates the different cultures by their preparation of foods begun by their heritage as well as supports the local farmers and producers in town.
Our website includes a link for farmers who are interested in getting the word out about their products. We hope to make a positive effect to the communities who look at Local Harvest and are interested in learning more about what the Greater Kansas City area (and its outskirts) offer.
We feature a Slow Food Harvest every year in October or November to celebrate Slow Food and the farmers who contribute to it. This year it will be held at the Round Hill Barn in Overland Park, Kansas on November 4th from 3:30 to 6:30 for a $10 per person fee. Farmers are welcome free of charge.
