Hey Folks, If you are looking for a source for chemical free food farmed in a sustainably minded way we are the farm for you. We've been growing a wide variety of chemical free produce for the local markets since 2010. As we've improved our methods and increased our yields we've broaden our market from the Jackson and Hillsdale county area to Marshall and Ypsilanti. My wife and I manage approximately five acres of garden, 21 acres of pasture, and about 6 acres of no spray, non-GMO grain.
In the pasture we are using the Joel Salatin model of pasture management to raise up livestock and fowl. We are currently building up a flock of katahdin sheep for the meat market, and looking to bring in some beef cattle by 2013. We also keep no less then 100 laying hens out on the pasture to follow behind the livestock.
As for what we grow.....you name we we've probably got. (As long as it's in season that is). We are also putting up another hoop house in the fall of 2012 to help us extend our growing season into the early winter.
If you're looking to buy from us you can find us out at Farmers Markets all summer long in Ypsilanti, Jackson, and Marshall. We also run a self serve farm stand when we have the enough to sell. So Call ahead if your planing to come out.
If you'd like come out and visit you'll find us right off of M-99 between Jonesville and Litchfield, across from the bowling alley and softball fields.
Come find us at one of our markets or Call to make a visit out to the farm. We're always happy to show people around the farm to give them an idea what we do to grow their food.
