Spinning angora is like spinning air. If you live in a warm climate, as little as 20% blended with other fiber will give you yarn a lovely halo and added warmth.
Our rabbits live a life of luxury in large cages in an air-conditioned building. They are fed high protein food, plus lots of good hay, apples, and fresh greens cut from our garden, to ensure a beautiful fiber. Their fur is gathered by shearing 4 times each year which feels good to them. Afterward, of course, they are always rewarded with a treat. When they are bored with playing with cage toys, they are allowed to roam the bunny barn freely to get some exercise. They prefer indoor roaming to being outside in the Texas heat!
Their fur is wonderfully soft, and sold by the ounce.
Spinning angora is like spinning a cloud. Even a small amount adds a beautiful halo to any knitted garment.
