We are an Old Fashioned mixed use farm, with a passion for sustainability and producing high quality pasture-raised chicken, 100% grass-fed beef, and camelina oil the traditional time-tested way. With locations in Trenton and Alachua, Florida near the Suwannee River Valley, and San Felasco Preserve respectively, we are striving to improve and perserve the unique but fragile ecosystem of the region, while we help revive the concept of the small independent farm and bring some pride, passion, and humanity into the work we do.

We feed our cattle nothing but grass, and high protein legumes like clover, from the time they are weaned from their mother's milk to the time they are harvested. This is the way cattle have been raised since early man first domesticated animals until the wide-scale, and ill-conceived adoption of factory farming in the last century. We do things the traditional way because it makes sense. Why use antibiotics, and artificial hormones to fix the health problems caused by life on a feedlot and a diet of corn and a host of stuff they don't want to tell you about, when you could simply run the operation right from the start?

"Pastured Raised" is what most of us think of when we think of "free range," and this is the way we raise our chickens. Chickens, unlike cows, aren't naturally designed to survive on exclusively grass, so they forage on plants, seeds, and bugs for part of their diet and we supplement with our own custom blend of local grains, including onsite grown and blended camelina meal. They live in our pastures, not a pen. The chickens are only housed at night to prevent them being hunted down by local Florida predators, such as hawks, owls, foxes, coyotes, and even the few errant dogs, but as you can see from the pictures, our pens are built with the welfare of the animals as our first priority.

We're very serious about the quality of our chickens, all the way from the time they hatch to the time they get to you, and the only way to insure the highest standards throughout the entire process was to do everything ourselves. With that in mind, we've built North Central Florida's only fully USDA approved chicken processing facility right onsite.
