South Whidbey Tilth Farmers' Market

South Whidbey Tilth Sustainable Agriculture Campus hosts a variety of projects and activities including a seasonal Farmers' Market, community gardening spaces, a children's garden, a native plant salvage project, forest restoration pilot project, an orchard, alternative power system, classes and workshops.

The market includes a wide variety of seasonal organically grown vegetables, crafts and prepared food and drinks.

The farmers' market on South Whidbey has been operating since 1971 and managed by South Whidbey Tilth Association since 1983. It has been located at the South Whidbey Tilth Sustainable Agriculture Campus since 2000.

South Whidbey Tilth Association, a chapter of Washington Tilth, is a diverse network of people working cooperatively within our organization and in the community. Our commitment is to advocate, study and teach agricultural practices consistent with stewardship of the natural world. We promote and demonstrate principles and practices of sustainable agriculture. We support our local farmers.

Schedule and Location:

The South Whidbey Tilth Farmers' Market is open from 11 2 p.m. on every Sunday from May 4 through October 26, 2014. It is located on the South Whidbey Tilth Sustainable Agriculture Campus at Thompson Road and State Route 525. Look for the scarecrow and the sign "South Whidbey Tilth Market and Garden"

Tilth is a REAL farmers market that should be kept open. It caters to locals, not just to the tourists who want to buy cut flowers, etc. Local farmers need as many avenues for direct sale to consumers as possible. We need to save Whidbey Farms!
