SPEARMINT OIL Mentha spicata

Although not as popular as peppermint oil, Spearmint oil is far gentler to use with children and many people prefer the scent of Spearmint oil over Peppermint oil.

Spearmint oil also helps to relieve vomiting and nausea, intestinal cramps, fevers, and hemorrhoids. Spearmint oil works very well for the respiratory tract to relieve cough, bronchitis, asthma, catarrh and sinus.

Unlike peppermint, SPEARMINT does not contain high amounts of menthol. The ancient Greeks used it to scent their bath water and it had a reputation for curing sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea

SPEARMINT OIL is considered a non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing oil. The therapeutic properties of spearmint oil are antiseptic ( a bacteria buster), antispasmodic, carminative, cephalic, emmenagogue, insecticide, restorative and stimulant.

Use SPEARMINT ESSENTIAL OIL externally for headaches, migraines, nervous strain, fatigue and stress. For female health, it can help to stem the flow of heavy periods . It is also used for urine retention. Spearmint oil is also used for toning the breasts

Add a few drops of oil to Freshening the trash can, laundry wash, sheets, linen, vacuum bag filter, on a tissue liners in your dresser drawers.I also pour some of this oil into a diffuser bottle for my diffuser sticks.

Spearmint Oil blends well with lavender, jasmine, eucalyptus, basil, and rosemary, and is often used in combination with peppermint.

For the most part unless mentioned otherwise, each tea bag will make 3 to 4 cups of tea; If loose herb tea,two ounces will make about 23 cups of tea . One ounce of just an herb is about a sandwich bag, and sometimes a little more. If it is a root herb such as burdock root it is heavier, thus an ounce would be about a quarter of a sandwich bag. Comfrey, plantain and nettle leaves would be in a quart size bag.
