Spice Farm

At Spice Farm we use ecologically sound and sustainable practices such as rain harvesting, hand weeding, IPM, companion planting, crop rotations and compost from our own heritage breed chickens to grow carefully selected varieties of organic and often heirloom, open-pollinated seed. We are guided by the principles of biodynamic farming and permaculture. We use a mixture of practices, but no GMOs (we'd rather buy conventional seed from a reliable and ecological company than 'organic' seed from Burpee/Monsanto) and we do not use any harmful chemical pesticides, etc. We nourish the soil and believe that healthy soil and plants are the roots of our outstanding produce.

Spice Farm is a small, family owned and operated hand-scale farm. Spice Farm was established in 2010 high on the hills overlooking the Susquehanna River near Owego, NY. We now grow a wide range of vegetables, perennials, culinary, medicinal and natural dye herbs as well as cut flowers to delight the senses.

Spice Farm subscribes to the NOFA-NY Farmer's Pledge and is committed to food justice for all.
