Bloomsdale Longstanding Spinach is an old timey favorite that is still around for many reasons!! Dark green, slightly savoyed leaves are full of Vitamin C and other vitamins and minerals. This spinach is great both raw (young small leaves) or steamed (larger older leaves)
Direct seed in your garden, in a full sun or partial shade area with very well drained soil. For best results, amend your soil richly with organic composted matter before planting.
Can be broadcast or sown in rows. Cover no deeper than 1/2" with soil, and/or a very thin layer of straw
Can also be grown in containers for patio gardens. Plant 5-6 seeds in 12" containers. Keep the leaves picked and enjoy fresh spinach for months!
Great for early spring and fall / winter gardens. Bloomsdale Longstanding is hardy, and slower to bolt than other varieties of spinaches.

Save your own seed: Let the plant bolt (send up a seed stalk), bloom, and set seed. When the seeds are dry, cut off the stalk and remove the seeds. Keep in a cool, dry dark place.
