Spring Mill Farm

Located on a multi-generational family farm in South Central Virginia, Spring Mill Farm is committed to providing the Lynchburg area with fresh and delicious goat milk cheeses in a variety of styles. In 2010 we added pastured pork to our farm product line-up.

Our base herd consists of a dozen dairy goats, and the milk is supplemented with goat's milk from another goat dairy in Blackstone. Current cheese production occurs in a leased facility, but our long term goals include the building of a Grade A dairy on the farm.

Cheeses we offer:

  • Chevre: Barenaked (plain), Herbes de Provence, Hellfire (habanero), Cracked Pepper Logs, Honey Lemon Lavender. Seasonal chevres include: Honey Lemon Lavender (spring), Pesto (summer), Tzatziki (summer), Cranberry-Orange (fall/winter)
  • Goat's Milk Feta
  • McLaurin - a raw goat's milk tomme (aged for over 100 days)
  • Our pastured pork comes from our herd of heritage-breed hogs, raised on pasture. Their diet is supplemented with whey (a by-product of our cheese making), extra garden produce, and any nuts they forage in the woods.

    Pork Offerings:

  • Sausage: Breakfast sausage (links and loose), Andouille, German Bratwursts, Garlic Bratwursts, Chorizo, Hot Italian sausage, and Sweet Italian sausage
  • A variety of pork cuts: pork chops, fresh hams, Boston butts, picnic roasts, tenderloins, and more!
  • Pork fat, perfect for rendering your own lard
  • 2012 will see the addition of meat rabbits to our product line up. Our first rabbits should be ready late summer 2012.
