OUR VISION

Spring Run Market has been created to fill a vast need here in our area- to make fresh, local, organic foods easily accessible and affordable. Up until now, there has been no system of organizing local fresh foods for locavores, and we decided it was time to do so! Our family of farms meet strict criteria: NO use of chemicals, non-organic pesticides, antibiotics, steroids, growth hormones (ASH-free); animals must be treated humanely, in their natural habitat with plenty of sunshine and roaming for foraging; must meet or exceed government requirements for processing. We at Spring Run are serious about your health!

Our vision encompasses:

* providing alternative marketing opportunities for our valuable growers and producers of eastern NC's agricultural commodities * helping promote the sale of such products * making organic, regionally produced foods more affordable by bringing the foods and farmers to central points * providing an educational forum for consumers to learn the uses and benefits of quality, locally grown foods, as well as information on health, wellness, and all the latest "locavore" news, and * providing community involvement by planning such events as educational classes, days at the farm, fun festivals for holidays...the list (more...)
