We have a small fold of Highland cattle (only 5 momma cows) and sell registered breeding stock and grassfed/grassfinished beef. We calve in March and wean/halterbreak calves in Sept or Oct. so calves are available then. Occasionally we have yearling heifers or bulls available. Though our fold is small, we have taken advantage of AI to utilize some of the top genetics in the breed.
We normally harvest beef animals in the fall after a summer of finishing on lush pastures, but occasionally have beef available at other times of the year. We use no pesticides and feed no grain, antibiotics, steroids or growth hormones, or animal byproducts. Our cows have never seen the inside of a barn - they spend their lives enjoying the great outdoors.
