Search Widget and Banners

We aim to promote our members' businesses as much as possible. One way to achieve this is to have other Web sites incorporate part of our search functionality. If you think that your Web site could use a "quick search" for local produce, feel free to link to us and/or use our search widgets from within your site.

To add a "Zip Code/City Search" widget to your Web site, all you need to do is use the following HTML code:

Zip Code or City:
<form action="http://www.localharvest.org/getmap.jsp" method=GET>
<input name="zip" size="11">
</form>

You can also limit the search results to one of our main member types: Family Farms, Farmers' Markets, Restaurants or Food Coops. To do this you need to add a hidden "type" parameter to the search widget

For example, to add a "Zip Code/City Search" widget to your Web site that searches only for Farmers' Markets, you would use:

Zip Code or City:
<form action="http://www.localharvest.org/getmap.jsp" method=GET>
<!-- "ty" value: 0:Farms, 1:Markets, 2:Restaurants, 3:Coops, 6:CSA-->
<input type="hidden" name="ty" value="1">
<input name="zip" size="11">
</form>

Feel free to customize the above code whichever way you might want. Alternatively, you could add a link that loads a LocalHarvest view of the particular area that you are interested in. For example, the following link will load a view of Santa Cruz, California:

To add a link like the above, and again, feel free to customize it as you wish, just use the following html in your Web site, replacing the zip code with the zip code for your area.

<a href="http://www.localharvest.org/getmap.jsp?zip=95060">
<img src="http://ext.localharvest.org/images/findlocalharvest.gif" border="0">
</a>

Also, you might want to add a LocalHarvest logo like the one here to your Web site. To do so, just follow the instructions on our LocalHarvest Logo page.
