Stinging nettle should be planted in it's own spot away from the main garden and not allowed to go to seed or it will spread . It also spreads by runners like mint. It is worth growing however because it has tremendous soil building and health benifits . It is one of the Biodynamic herbs .
It is best to start it in plugs We mix the seed with sand and sprinkle it on moist seed starting mix . It takes 7 to 14 days to germinate best at 65 degrees . It needs light to germinate and won't germinate if it is too hot . We statify the seeds we send my freezing them for a month or so.You can also sow them in a pot and leave it outside in the fall and the seed will emerge in the spring
It is great to feed to animals and humans as a supplement . Makes a great tea and cooking herb. We feed it to baby chicks as soon as they are hatched . We also made an herbal fertilizer with it.

The shipping on our orders also includes the processing and handling charges which is also less or equal to most seed companies.
