Stones's Throw Urban Farm and the Stone's Throw Agricultural Cooperative
Stone's Throw Urban Farm is teaming up with several other farmers to launch Stone??s Throw Agricultural Cooperative (STAC), an exciting development and vision for a strengthened regional food system in the Twin Cities metro region. STAC works with urban and rural farmers to collectively market produce through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The mission of STAC is to 1) coordinate marketing, outreach, and educational programming for agricultural producers that are working towards social justice and ecological health on their farms; 2) provide marketing opportunities for a diverse group of producers, especially immigrant and minority farmers; 3) provide educational opportunities and access to affordable healthy food to the wider community, while financially supporting local farmers.
The 2014 season is the first year that STAC will be in existence. CSA shares and extra add-ons are comprised of products from the various member farms of the Stone??s Throw Agricultural Cooperative. All member farms either operate according to USDA certified organic regulations or are USDA certified organic. Member farms are:
- Stone??s Throw Urban Farm, Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota - Whetstone Farm, Windom, Minnesota - Agua Gorda Cooperative, Long Prairie, Minnesota - Cala Farms, Turtle Lake, Wisconsin - Madelia, Minnesota
We are selling summer/fall CSA shares, winter CSA shares, meat shares, and add-ons such as honey, wild rice, dried beans, and mushrooms. To sign-up, check our website: stonesthrowagcoop.com
