Golden Passion Fruit

Distinctively different from the purple variety---sweet yet tart---the Golden passion fruit offers an array of cuisine options. Being a larger fruit you will get a lot of juice from just one passion fruit. You can eat the nectar inside the fruit as well as the seeds. It can be used as a flavoring in drinks, ice cream, sorbets, jams, sauces, and marinades. I like to drizzle it over bananas or use it as fruit dressing as is traditionally done in Australia.

To eat, just slice the fruit in half and scoop out the pulp. Throw out the skin although I have heard that there is a natural form of pectin in it, and people use it as a natural way to make jams and jellies. Keep fruit refrigerated for 4-6 days. People of Latin descent also know this fruit by the name" maracuja".
