The Mango family has two distinct areas of that we need to talk about. They can be eaten unripe which we call the green mango or they can be eaten ripe which we call the dessert mango.
We will be featuring dessert mangoes in our on line store in different varieties depending on what part of the season it is. The mangoes will vary in the size, color and shape. They can be eaten by peeling them and cutting them back from the skin. Makes for a wonderful addition to a salad or an alternative in a salsa mix.
In Thailand a nice recipe is to add sweet sticky rice and coconut cream to them. The mango is the worlds most consumed tropical fruit.
