Handspun Alpaca Yarn
Every April, David and I, Tanya, shear our own alpacas. It is their once-a-year haircut! No animals are harmed in the process and it is necessary to shear them to avoid heat stress. After shearing, fleeces are cleaned and prepped for hand spinning. Each skein of yarn is unique and comes with a picture and story of the alpaca from where it came from.
Our alpaca farm is different in the fact that David and I are completely hands on in every aspect of our farm. We shear, vaccinate, train and raise our alpacas. David builds shelters and constructs fencing. I am the shearer, hand spinner and knitter/crocheter.
