Gray Icelandic Lamb Pelts / Skin
This pelt is from a black gray patterned Icelandic lamb. Which basically means that the out coat is black and the inner coat is lighter, but there are some variations through the pelt. It is gray with some brownish shading on the tips and a darker gray area in the middle. The wool is long and soft.
The sheep are raised on our small farm, fed mostly grass all summer and live outside with their mothers.
Icelandic lamb pelts are very attractive and can be used as throws or even decorative rugs.
It has very few defects or holes, although there is a pattern of small holes in the skin made by the tanner. It was tanned by Buck's County Fur in Pennsylvania and is made to be washable, but can be dry cleaned if desired. Water washing per the instructions from Bucks county tends to make the skin hard and it takes time to get the skin back to it's supple texture.
It's measurements are 39 inches down the midline and 23 accross the middle.
