We are glad to offer our customers Native Illinois Pecans for the fall 2010 season. Quantities are limited this season.
Native Illinois Pecans - grown on our farm along the Big Muddy River Bottoms in Southern Illinois. Native to the bottom lands in southern Illinois along the Big Muddy, Wabash, Ohio, and Mississippi Rivers. Our pecans grow wild, just the way " Mother Nature" made them.
With the holidays right around the corner now is a good time to purchase your Pecans for pies and desserts. They also taste wonderful eaten fresh or try topping your favorite salad with pecans.
These pecans are smaller then the Paper Shell pecans but they make up for it in flavor. They have a rich and buttery flavor due to their high content of natural oils.
Native Illinois Pecan - Native American Pecan (Carya illinoinensis) were a staple in the Native American diet.
Thomas Jefferson and George Washington grew them at their homes in Virginia.
Pecans are natural antioxidants and contain more than 19 vitamins and minerals vitamin A, vitamin E, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, B vitamins and zinc. Pecans are a good source of fiber.
We offer our Pecans in the shell, Pecan halves or chopped Pecans.
