Tomato Seeds- Hungarian Heart - Heirloom
Tomato - Hungarian Heart
Latin - Solanum lycopersicum
These tomatoes were said to have originated in Hungary around 1900. These tomatoes have huge pink fruits that weight upwards of one pound.
The biggest one we raised this year weighed 15 ounces. They have few seeds and very few have cracks. They are a slower tomato but they are well worth the wait. Delicious tomato flavor for fresh eating.
Also great for canning. You can fill a lot of jars with just a few of these giants.
Sow seeds indoors ¼" deep. Tomatoes are sensitive to freezing temperatures, so wait to transplant outdoors until the soil is warm. Plant in full sun. Plant 24 to 36 inches apart and use tomato cages or some kind of trellis. Happy Planting !!
