Pencil Cob Heirloom Corn Seed
Pencil Cob seed should be on every ''preppers list''. This old "shoe peg type" dent corn variety is a very flavorful roasting ear corn. It is also useful as bird and livestock feed or for grinding corn meal or corn flour. The plants grow five to six feet tall produce two to three ears per stalk. As seen in the picture, it gets its name from the fact that the cobs are not much bigger in diameter than a pencil. Did you know this corn has been tested @ 16% protein while a gmo corn tested at 8 % . In a field trial deer walked past the gmo corn to get to the 16 % non gmo corn. If deer can make better choices when given the chance, cant we ! I saw a gentleman at a flea market recently that used the cobs to clean his shotgun barrel . He says the cob with a little 3 in1 oil and a push rod will make that barrel shine like new .This seed should be on every preppers list . Enjoy this corn because it's worth saving. Stands dry weather well.
