Jimmy Nardello Heirloom Pepper Seeds
70 days. Open Polinated, Heirloom. Ohh, ahh, we love this sweet pepper! Modestly sized plant gets loaded with long (8"), thin, super sweet red peppers. This is a frying type with thin walls. After having read great things about it for years we finally trialed it in the summer of '09 and wondered why we did not grow it sooner. It has surpassed Lipstick as our 6 year old daughter's favorite garden snack. (Our son still prefers Lipstick because of the thick walls.) It is the sweetest, and possibly the most productive sweet pepper we grow. It is early to turn red and keeps pumping out the peppers until frost. Highly recommended. This variety of pepper was originally from Basilicata, a southern region of Italy. It takes its name from seed saver Jimmy Nardello, who brought the seeds from Italy while immigrating to Connecticut in 1887. On the Slow Foods Ark of Taste. Germinated at 80% on 11/14/11.
