Hopi Pole Lima Bean Heirloom Seeds

Ancient open polinated pole lima bean from the Southwest. Has been cultivated in one form or another since at least 1000 AD. Very hardy, drought and heat resistant. Needs a long season, but is well worth the wait. Ours produced abundantly in the fall. Supposed to be alkaline soil resistant and root knot nematode resistant, although we have no personal experience with either. Excellent flavor. This is a large seeded lima that comes in a rainbow of gorgeous, speckled colors. Extremely rare. On the Slow Foods Ark of Taste. Germinated at 82% on 12/6/12.
