Crushed Red Raspberry Leaf Tea
We allow our canes to fruit in both spring and fall, so we have a constant supply of canes during the flowering stage from which this tea is made. Our canes are protected underneath our vented high tunnels from insect and wind damage. Packaged as loose-leaf tea in lined tin-tie bags.
Red raspberry leaf tea is naturally caffeine-free, yet it tastes remarkably like green tea, and has similar anti-oxidant properties. However, for best flavor and nutrient value, steep one teaspoon per cup for minimum of 10 minutes (and preferably 15) in very hot water. You can re-use that same teaspoon of leaves, however, for up to three cups, with additional 10 minute steep. By the teapot: a generous teaspoon will make a very satisfying pot of 4 cups when allowed to steep for 15 minutes or more.
