Alpaca Yarn in Baby Blue
Treat yourself to this incredibly soft alpaca yarn from my alpacas in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range.
This color is Baby Blue, there are 16 skeins available. It's all hand dyed by myself, in 150 yard skeins of machine spun, 3 ply, and average 1.3 oz. They are 100% alpaca, dyed with eco-conscious dyes that set very well.
Single strand: 9 stitches and 11 rows per inch on size 2 needle. Two strands knitted as one: 6 stitches and 8 rows on size 5 needle.
1 skein makes a small, open pattern scarf or simple hat. 2 skeins is an average scarf, pair of small socks, a hat, etc
Most of the time when someone buys 2 skeins for a pair of socks, they end up emailing for one more skein. I made a scarf with 3 colors at once, used #11 needle, in a simple stocking knit stitch, and the scarf is 5 1/2 to 6 feet long and 5 inches wide.
This is the same yarn found in 5 of the patterns in the book Knitted Lace Shawls by Alison Jeppson Hyde. When I first started selling my yarns, the author told me it was really in between fingering and sport so I changed the name to fingering so if you see the yarn online and it says Sport or Fingering just know it's all the same weight, just had a change of names.
