Bushel Gourd Seed
Bushel gourds are very fun and easy to grow! The dried gourds can be used for crafts.
Gourd plants are vines, and grow very far, very fast! Please give them plenty of space in your garden to "do their thing"...they do very nicely along fences and on trellises.
Direct sow seed in early spring, as soon as the last frost date for your area has passed. Plant about 1" deep, 2-3 to a hill. Your hills should be in well drained, amended soil which receives full sunlight. Hills should be a couple of feet apart in all directions. Hint: Construct a tripod of limbs over each hill, and as the gourd grows you can train it to grow up the tripod.
Allow the gourds to fully develop and dry on the vine. When the gourd is fully dry store in a cool, dry area until you are ready to use it.
One packet = 12 fresh viable seed for 2013 season
Seed was produced on vines grown using organic, sustainable methods.
