Dr. Goodwin's Red Tomato Seed

(Lycopersicum esculentum)

is variety and history came to me from tomato guru Gary Millwood. Gary says: "DR GOODWIN'S Kentucky RED heirloom, large red slicer, very old variety saved by Dr Goodwin in Bowling Green, Ky. Seed acquired from an elderly dental patient years before the doctor retired. Unfortunately he doesn??t remember the name of the elderly gentleman who shared the seed with him. He placed the seed in his old desk drawer and forgot them. He moved his office twice before retiring back to Louisville where he grew up. Dr. Roger Goodwin renewed his interest in Gardening and thought of those tomato seed which had been shared with him so many years prior. He located his old desk and found the seed. That spring he tried germinating his seed and was able to get a few plants. Dr. Goodwin??s Kentucky Red tomato is an Indeterminate, regular leaf, slicer and can produce some good size tomatoes with great taste.
